Vitality is Minneapolis Public Schools optional well-being platform.

Through Vitality, all benefit eligible MPS employees (including those who aren’t enrolled in MPS medical coverage) can be rewarded for engaging in a variety of health and wellness related activities.

If you carry your spouse or domestic partner on your district health insurance, they will have access to participate in Vitality but it’s NOT required.

Benefits of enrolling in Vitality include:

  • Earning gift cards

  • Participating in team challenges

  • Improving your health and wellness

  • Earning discounts on co-pays or deductibles (if you’re enrolled in MPS insurance)

  • And much more!

For more information, check out the Wellness Staff Site or contact wellness@mpls.k12.mn.us.

Employer Incentive Program

By participating in the Vitality Program and reaching Silver Status, MPS employees who are enrolled in the district’s insurance will have the opportunity to save money on their health insurance.

  • For those on plans 1 and 2: Silver Vitality Status achieves a $20 lower co-pays on your health insurance.

  • For those on plan 3 (HDHP): Silver Vitality Status achieves a $250 lower deductible.

It pays to participate in Vitality and save!

PROGRAM YEAR

It's important to know that the Vitality program year follows the calendar year and not the school year.

  • The program opens every January and closes before open enrollment in October.

  • If you’re hired on or before June 1st, you must reach Silver Status before the October deadline in order to earn or maintain the lowest co-pays or deductibles on health insurance for the following year.

  • If you’re hired after June 1st, you’ll still have access to the Vitality Program, but you’re exempt from reaching Silver Status. However, in order to maintain the lowest co-pays or deductibles on health insurance you will have to participate the following year.
